Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does it cost to join the Young Professionals Networking Group?
A: YPNG is open to anyone who feels they are a Young Professional living and working in San Luis Obispo County. The best part is there are no membership fees. Benefits include the opportunity to meet and network with other young professionals, give back to the community through philanthropic events and create life-long friendships.

Q: How often do you meet and what is the commitment?
A: YPNG has free quarterly membership socials at Mother's Tavern, outings such as ski trips, wine tasting, wakeboarding, camping, etc that are pre-paid events, and community events, happy hours and other social engagements as arranged.

Q: Where does excess money from each event go? Who gets the profits?
A: YPNG operates on a not for profit model. Money collected at events is used to reimburse the organizer for their expenses. Any excess funds are put into a YPNG bank account for future activities.

Q: How can I host a monthly social?
A: Hosting a mixer is a great opportunity to make new contacts. If you're interested in hosting an event, contact our events representative at events@ypng.org.

Q: I can't host a social, but I have an idea for one. Who do I tell?
A: YPNG is open to input from all members. Contact events@ypng.org with any information or ideas that you would like to share.

Q: What does YPNG do for the community?
A: YPNG has been growing rapidly over the last few months and is still developing. A steering committee has been formed to create a vision for YPNG that will make them a mainstay in the community for many years to come. Volunteering for local events and giving back to the community will make that vision a reality. If you have a community event that you would like others to get involved in contact events@ypng.org. Stay tuned, there is more on the horizon.

Q: I'd like to get a copy of the member list so I can send out an email to the entire YPNG group to advertise my business. How can I do that?
A: The YPNG email list is used strictly for official YPNG communication, which does not include email advertising. Future plans call for a webpage messaging board for all other types of communication, notices and searches between members.
