Close Encounters of the Giving Kind:  A Movie Experience
A benefit for the Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County

After 3pm, Tickets are available at the door!

We are not alone…

There are over 25,000 people in this county that depend on the SLO Food Bank for their next meal. Many recipients are children from families whose income is not sufficient to make ends meet.

We’ve encountered a problem that affects our community, and the good news is there is something you can do to help!

On Thursday, October 23rd YPNG will be hosting a movie night at the Palm Theater starting at 6:15pm.  The featured film will be Steven Spielberg’s classic “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” starring Richard Dreyfuss.

All proceeds from the event will be given back to the Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County.  Tickets are limited and are on sale now, so please sign up as soon as humanly possible…

There are three different ticket packages available depending on how much you are able to give back:

First Encounter:     $10   1 movie ticket + 1 raffle ticket
Second Encounter: $20   1 movie ticket + 15 raffle tickets
Third Encounter:    $50   2 movie tickets + 40 raffle tickets

After 3pm, Tickets are available at the door! Palm Theatre

There will be a raffle before the movie in which you have the chance to win hotel stays, wine, sunglasses, and much more! Additional raffle tickets are available at the event for $1 each.

We highly encourage everyone to bring at least one can of food to donate at the event.  See the shopping list to find out what foods are most needed.

The SLO Food Bank’s mission is to alleviate hunger in San Luis Obispo County, and to be a source of food support during a disaster.

Please do what you can to help improve the great county we live in!

You can purchase tickets online here or you can call Jamie Magon (305-2357) to pay via cash or check. Her office is open from 9-5 (M-F), but call first to make sure she’s available.  846 Higuera St, #12, SLO (downtown on Higuera Street, near Chorro, in between Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Bath and Body Works)
